There are a number of folks who do track work over on the 911 list, and the
subject of street, track, and track/street tires comes up with regularity.
In the DOT-legal street/track category, there has been a love-fest going on.
These has been the new favorite of anyone who has tried them. They have been
found to be better overall than the A032Rs, the only downside seems to be
that at low tread depths, the Toyos are not as good in the wet. As far as
wear, traction, etc, they seem to be better in all regards. They come with
around a 8-9/32s tread depth, so they are quite streetable, and the more
conventional read pattern should make them quieter than the A032Rs.
he 3R Racing Team tested them on their World Challenge Grand Touring cars,
and found them to be superior to the Toyo T1-S tires they ran last year.
Neither Tire Rack nor Discount carry them, but a Google search brings up a
few sources. A 225/50/16 is around $175.
