[Shotimes] rough running 92

Hi folks.  It's been a while.  #1 Son has some problems with his (my old)
92.   The engine will idle and run like it's missing a cylinder or two, then
sometimes it runs fine.  Code scanner revealed Code 217  - Coil 3 primary
circuit  failure.   I had an opportunity to swap some parts from a good
running 95 last night.  I really wanted to swap the coil packs, however, the
connector is slightly different (locator tab) and is not interchangable with
the 92.  I did swap the DIS modules which seemed to make my sons 92 run
flawlessy.  His DIS in the friends 95 didn't seem to bother it at all.
Swapped them back and the problem came back on son's 92 again.  Could be
just coincidence since it seems to be intermittent but it was weird!

Anyway, my quesiton is:  Since the diag.  shows the coil pack error code,
should I replace it, or could the DIS be the "real" problem and fooling the
computer into throwing the coil pack error code?
Just trying to save the boy some money. :-)
