MessageA rumor that was posted in one of the automotive 'rags' was that Subaru
had originally leaked that it was going to release the 'Euro' spec STi (262
HP) here and when Mitsubishi came out with the Evolution at 271 HP, they
decided to release the 300 HP one that they had as a plan 'B'. From what I
read, this really surprised Mitsu.

Yeah, I believe that STi is the Euro version that we never got. "Ours" is

The STi numbers are wrong on your chart. It is a 2.5L engine generating
300 HP.
