Replying to my own message - trying to put an end to rod bearing thread,
but forgot to change the subject line.

I didn't do very good job when it came to labeling the old bearings when
they came off, so I will not be 100% sure of the order. I also, still
don't have a digital cam - but my brother in law does, so I'll try to
get some pics to you and the list. After seeing the bearings come off
(6 thru 1)(rear to front) :-), I just wanted to get the job done - so
inexcusably, I lost track of the exact positions. As I was under the
car - I just kept hearing "The List" saying: "Just slap standard
bearings on the thing and move on down the road - as you'll have many
other things to fix on the car"!!

I couldn't leave it at that though, as I had to learn what this
Plastigage thing was all about - so again - I checked the rear most
bearing - the worst one. And found it to be in spec. (.0015"). Cost me
some time though because the plastigage stuck to the journal and the
bearings. I probably didn't do this right, but I'm glad I checked - as
I was worried about being out of spec.

If this thing runs like this for awhile - after feeling like I've done
just about everything I can or need to, to the engine right now - I'll
move on to the next thing - BRAKES.

'93 MTX, daily driver, want really good, but not racing type brakes.

What are the upgrade options for my '93??

Thanks to all of you again!

Kerry

Hey Kerry,

I'm glad to hear you got everything reassembled and are back on the
road.
Thanks for letting me know you found a gasket that'll work - that'll
save me
some driving time tomorrow.

If you get a chance, take some pics of those bearings and email them to
me -
I'm just dying to see what they looked like.

Josh
