Replying to my own post - went out and pulled it back and forth in the
driveway a few times. Noise happens when just letting the clutch out in
reverse, first and second. Maybe the rod bearing noise was masking this
other noise I'm hearing now. It just got a new clutch (at 107k) before
I bought the thing. Receipt says "replaced clutch assembly" "Surfaced
flywheel" and "replaced rear main seal" , $927.

Kerry ('93 MTX, fresh 60k+, new rod bearings, bone stock), should have
told you guys mileage - 111k.

OK All,

I won't go on and on about this one - but I just replaced rod bearings
to get rid of the ticking noise between about 2400-3500 RPM's. That
worked. Now I'm hearing a slight ticking noise while in gear. I notice
it in reverse and it seems like (just started hearing after the rod
bearing replacement so I'll listen more closely to pinpoint exactly when
it's happening) in first gear when just getting going. Doesn't happen
in neutral so I definitely think it's got to be tranny related. Any
thoughts??
