Subject: "Hillman - " ' 58 Minx Convertible

Hi All,
I just finished talking to a fellow named Doc in Montana. He has a couple of
Hillmans for sale. The first is a 1958 Minx convertible. It sounds like he
has done a complete restoration on this car. He told me he spent $ 6,000.00
U.S. on bodywork and painting, $ 1,000.00 on re-chroming, and $ 1,500.00 at
KIP Motors on various handles and hardware for the convertible top etc. The
only thing left to do is the engine which he hasn't touched but apparently
runs"like a top". It is a four speed manual floor shift (was that standard
on a ' 58?), cream beige interior with red exterior. Now for the price - he
wants $ 9,500.00 U.S. for this car. I know that sounds like alot but he
certainly has put a lot of money into it. He also has an estate ( I can't
remember year) that is in solid condition but needs some bodywork
(apparently very little rust). It has a Rapier engine in it. He wants $
500.00 for that.
Wait, there's more. He also has three parts cars (all four door saloons)
Anyhow, just thought I'd pass it along.

regards,
Alan
