Kurt,  I just posted on this topic, but my basic understanding of the LPM is
that it modifies the fuel curve specifically at WOT, which is what you were
doing during your highway driving.  So what you observed stands to reason.
I guess some basic logic would say that if one opens up the air intake and
exhaust, and the LPM compensates for the extra air in the engine by
providing more fuel, and hence providing more horsepower, that fuel
consumption will suffer by definition.
What we really need is a switch on the LPM to select which program to use
based on the driving situation.  Alas our low tech LPM does not provide this
capability.
