Hey Mark

Though I use to have a tranny guage ... I am now going to use my water temp guage in the car for a "approximate" feel for what its doing.

I have a portable sending unit that I will tap into the existing drain plug and use extend the wire lead to the tranny.

Right now I have both the water temp gauge and the idiot gauge to the water temp

Regarding your police grill .. I bet u would see increase temps with out it.

BUt if your running your stripped down car .. which means u have no condensor, your radiator is getting much better airflow than normal. I would think this would make a huge difference too.
