[Shotimes] More Bearing fun

Now my question is about the main bearings. I have the 95 ford cd and was 
looking up directions for replacing the main bearings but the directions 
want you to remove the transmission and subframe and such. Is this really 
necessary or is there a simpler way to do it? Also is their a write up on 
the web anyplace?
