For many years (probably 25 at least) I have used the phrase "FSS" (Fifteen
Second Syndrome). It's for people who drive appliance cars, then buy a car
that can turn 15s in the 1/4 mile, and they think they can beat Vipers.

Give these Acceleration-Challenged FSS folks one ride in a REAL
sub-14-second car, and they begin to understand that the K&N and mufflers do
not add 50 HP!! Well, most of them do....there's still a lot of really slow
people walking the planet!!

reminds me of a guy I used to work with...  He believed EVERYTHING that
advertisements said about horsepower increases.  According to him, his 2002
V6 Mustang will mop up my SHO since according to what mods he has his car is
pumping over 300 horsepower.   yeah, right

I think smarter is probably accurate.  Many people don't have a clue as to
what it would take in HP and/or weight reduction to actually shave 3 seconds
off a car's 1/4 mile time.  As we get smarter, we learn that it takes more
than a set of cams.  :)
