[Shotimes] shox

George, folks have had great luck with KYB GR-2s on SHOs with Eibachs. In
fact, that's the way I'm going next Spring (unless KYB see fit to make the
AGX struts for our cars!).

Also, some SHO strut mounts came with spacers, IIRC, so those may have been
left out. Some of the mounts are also thicker than others (Josh has the full
story on his site). On my '95, the front strut mount was installed at an
angle (from the factory, I suspect), and when I changed struts, the front
end dropped when the mount was properly installed.

I had that problem with an Eagle Talon I put Gabriel struts on a while
back....it
was worse when it was done than it had been with the 100K+ mile originals.
If you
wanted a stiffer than stock ride, you should have gone with Tokikos or
Konis. After
hundreds of SHOS on this list have been re-strutted over the last 7or 8
years, those
two brands are about the only ones that deliver what they promise.

The car shouldn't be lower than it was before if the springs were not
changed. If
it is, there is something wrong with the installation, or they swapped
springs on
you without you knowing it.

(FYI) Springs can be too stiff for struts, and you'll get an uncontrollable
bounce.
Most SHO aftermarket springs are pretty stiff, and require good struts to
control.

See if you can get a refund for the KYBs, and try some Toks or Konis. KYB
shocks
are good for older Mustangs (for example), as are Gabriels. But for struts
for SHOs
and other performance strutted cars, those companies appear to have steered
to the
'dad's family car' image, as far as ride quality.
