Don, Al,

a lot of V6 SHO's get a rattly sound in the area of the cam 
chain assembly between the two cams.  The tensioner has a 
spring and is also oil fed.

When mine started making a little noise at about 70,000 
miles, Doug Lewis told me that changing the tensioner had a 
less than 50/50 chance of solving the problem.

Sure enough, one new tensioner later, and the sound was 
exactly as before.  It has not gotten any worse or better in 
the following 100,000 miles, I just got used to it.

The tensioner I took out showed zero wear.  Doug thought it 
was due to possibly small oil passages in some motors?
