I love drag racing as much as the next guy, but the SHO can be made into a
pretty capable track car, especially considering the investment. More-so
than a pig GTP or such. (I've done a ton of track events in the last 2 yrs,
I've never seen a GTP at any event).

And yes they still don't get respect. I wish I could have taped all the
reactions and chuckles and laughs at get at my 89 in the garages before an
event. A taurus with a roll cage. My 89 hung with (and beat) lots of big
dollar cars this year in solo 1 type time trials. The crazy thing is I
don't really thing I've begun to really come close to the potential of the
car with regards to suspension/tires and power.

On paper it doesn't add up, 65/35 weight split, FWD, only 260 hp, 225 race
rubber (under a 3250 lb car - way under-tired against cars that weigh less
and have wider wheels/meats) but for whatever reason they still seem to
overcome all that, and balance out fairly well and hang with the big dogs.
Frankly though, it's nice to have a car that "slips in under the radar".
