I bet you could........maybe not for long, and maybe not with a car in it.

I used to tow a 13' open trailer, 2 riding mower and the other equipment
with my ' 94 ATX, never had issues.
Made a bike week run from Nashville to Daytona and back 1400 miles, over
Monteagle Mt, both ways, with same 13' trailer
I also towed that same trailer to move furniture quite a few times.
I towed a 5x8 U-haul 600 miles with about 2k in it, went up Monteagle Mt.
doing 80 with that load.
Have towed 2 cars on a tow dolly with it.
Pulled a small van out of a ditch in the snow,
A ranger out of a ditch (no snow)
I even helped an F150 that got in a bind with the bumber hooked on the
ground in a ditch, I pulled him sideways from the back.

I never had a minutes trouble with that tranny...this is the one I just sold
with 161k.
I would never try to tow anything with the '99.
