I recently rented a 5x8" enclosed from uhaul and towed it with my 92 down to
GA and back. We had it really loaded, around 2500 lb, with the height of
the trailer (about 7") compared to the roof line of the car, it was like
pulling a parachute. 15 mpg, 80 mph was about top speed on a level grade,
~90 mph downhill. Even holding a steady 65-70 mph was work for the car, I
can't imagine towing something like that with an ATX. I was running between
210-230 water temp (like track conditions). You could probably burn up an
ATX pretty quick doing that.
Josh was able to get 100+ mph from the same trailer out to the convention,
but he's got 450 hp to :) He only got 10 mpg, we stopped at every gas
station from here to Madison.
