I concur on checking the subframe bushings.
A local pal with an 89 SHO was having starting problems. Turns out the DIS
was cracked by impact with the roll damper. I know, you're thinking, how
could that happen? The DIS is not that close to the damper. When we parked
my 91 next to it, we noticed that his engine sat significantly lower than
mine. I'm embarrassed that it took us 20 minutes to figure it out. His
subframe bolts were shot (recall had not been done) and worse than that,
they had backed out over an inch. That car was a disaster waiting to
happen. It's lucky his DIS kept it off the road. As it turned out, the
local Ford dealer not only did the recall without question, but they also
replaced the DIS free. Wow.

I've replaced just about every suspension component there is and when I take
hard turns (made worse over bumps), I still get this loud *CRUNCH* noise.
Here's what I have replaced
Front Struts and Strut bearings
Lower control arms (with ball joints)
Both halfshafts
both tierod ends
I have no idea where to look next.
