[Shotimes] steel vs. phenolic brake pistons

Remember the times we've talked about some Tauri having steel brake pistons,
while others were phenolic plastic?  And how one was theoretically police
and the other civilian?  And how Ford seems to have been inconsistent about
which civilian cars got police parts?

Well, I just thought y'all might like to know:  The Taurus is by no means
peculiar about this.  I'm doing the front pads on our 94 Crown Vicky.  If
you go in and ask for pads for this car, they'll assume you're civilian, and
sell you pads for a plastic piston.  Our CV has steel (police) pistons.  So
there you go.
