In general that makes sense.  I haven't pulled a flywheel in quite a few
years but I seem to remember that they always had a locator pin on the crank
to force proper indexing of the flywheel.

Also I seem to remember that this particular SHO flywheel did not have any
evidence of having been machined in any way for balance, as I have seen on
other flywheels in the past.

Anyway, it didn't look like it was specially machined for balance, it didn't
look like it had to go on any certain way.  The holes appeared to be evenly
spaced.  I put it on and most of the bolts started easily.  The last one or
2 bolts didn't.  Upon further examination I found that the holes didn't
quite line up correctly, which could only mean one thing.

I don't have many occasions to put clutches in V6 SHO's, and probably won't
ever have to do it again.
