[Shotimes] SHO'S and snow

I also recommend a full set of dedicated snow tires.

3 years ago, I got a set of Blizzaks mounted to 4 old "basket weave" wheels
off of the old '87SLO. Put them on the '93MTX and headed to Northern
Michigan to go skiing in a blizzard. I kept on the road while all sorts of
SUV's were going in the ditch! Better than 4 wheel drive on the highway!

The sticky part of the tread doesn't wear very well. After only 5k +/- the
pair that were on the front needs replacing. One was the victim of a big
screw and was run flat home (thanks to my daughter), but the rears still
have most of the sticky part left. Since they wear real fast on dry
pavement the other front is now down to the non-sticky hard part of the
tread and needs replacing to be an effective snow tire.

I'll buy 2 more at TireRack and will be set to take the old '93MTX to the
ski hills again, hopefully real soon!
