I've seen CF body panels for motorbikes painted, so I'm guessing it can be
done. Most don't just to save the weight. One that I've seen first hand
was a bike dealer in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The owner had his older ZX-11
redone with CF panels and had it painted black again. If you looked on the
underside of the panel, you could see the real CF. He had just slapped on
the paint to get rid of the CF look so it wouldn't be a target for thieves.
I've personally never been a fan of the CF look especially now with so many
fake CF stick-on stuff floating around, but I do like the weight savings.

I am uncertain about whether it can be painted, I'm sure that someone on
list
will know the answer, I will also be sure to find out.
Personally I'm leaning towards the Cobra style ports on each side......see

Count me in on the hood. I like the scoop idea - either the cobra
style - or something like the Doucette Stormtrooper hood (is that original
SVT
equipment Kirk?). I have a question too - can carbon fiber be painted? I am
under the impression they can not.

The SLO is not as fast as a SHO.....the SHO has a Yamaha V8, the
SLO
( regular Taurus) doesn't have a V8 option, SHO has dual exhaust (well it's
a
2-1-2 system), wheels are different, tranny is different, suspension is
different, front lower facia is different, only a few SLO's have a spoiler
(that the owner added).
The list is way too long to keep going.
Basically the SHO is the top of the line Taurus on steroids.

Ok guys, I have found a company that will make a Carbon Fiber
hood for the Taurus and SHO, they need a minimum order of 10 hoods to create
a
new mold.
If my thinking is correct, the hoods for 89-95 for SHO's and
SLO's are all interchangeable, meaning 1 mold will cover all of these years,
and the 96-99 SHO's and SLO's will interchange, so we need commintments from
10 of each Gen to get started.
I should be getting a per hood cost by Monday, and hopefully
some design options.
Will keep you all updated as information becomes available.
My company replaced my PC since the first discussion of the
hood
and I have lost my previous messages from those interested. So, anyone
interested please let me know.
I also e-mailed a different company that does custom
fiberglass
hoods, still waiting to hear back from them.
