Yep.

FWIW, I had the lightest tint put on my '89 right after I bought it. Anytime
that I rode in a car without tint, I could definitely feel the sun coming
through the side windows!! Even the lightest of tints helped a LOT.

Interior color does not matter, window tint WILL keep any car cooler, which
makes it easier on the A/C, the tint will also protect the interior from sun
damage (fading, cracking, etc).
