On a MTX you need to loosen the bolt that holds the pulley tight to the
mounting bracket. That will allow you to then turn that 5mm allen to
raise or lower the pulley to tighten the belt. A few ppl have told me
that you can do this without having to remove the battery tray and what
not, but I've never tired.

Dumb question:   How does one increase or release the tension on the 
alternator belt?  Turn that 5mm Allen head bolt on the very top of the 
tensioner, teh one that has a circlip around it?
