Matt,

Here is more true background on that car.  Leno is reported 
to own two SHOguns, I know he owns one.

The first day he did the Tonight Show, he arrived in a 
SHOgun and did a huge burnout before parking in Johnny 
Carson's parking spot!

Some time later (first year still i think) he had both his 
hands bandaged for a couple of his shows.  The reason was 
that a fire happened in that SHOgun, and he tried to put it 
out himself, and burned his hands.

A true "car nut" Leno appreciates his toys and knows how to 
work on them, and will even put himself in danger to save them!

I am guessing that his manager/insurance agency told him to 
let future cars burn to the ground before endangering his 
career.
