While some use the "for the money term" on the Kumhos, its kind of wrong. I
will say that I used Both Firestone Szep50 and the Kumho 712 in all
situations, Track, Drag , on the street and in heavy rain and besides the
Firestone's wearing a bit earlier than the Kumhos I would say they are
virtually that SAME tire, I even think I had less traction with the
Firestones than the Kumhos. I cant even begin to say how please I am to buy
an Identical tire for almost 1/3rd the cost of the Firestone. There are some
complaints about the Kumhos though one being that they were hard to balance,
I had the same issue until My local station got a Hunter Road Force
balancer, you guys have got to find one of these things for balancing!
Absolutely the best.. One of my 99 rims on my plus has a small bend in it, I
have a Kumho mounted to it and its on the Front.. Never even would know..

There was someone at one of the FATT sessions last year that had the
Sumitomo H-2? I think.. and said they were very good, but I cant verify for
his skill or his tire "feel" Knowledge.

Back is so far out that 15 T-3 with Codine wont even touch it, time to lay
back down.

Exactly the sort of responses I was hoping for. Steve wrote he liked the
Sumitomo, somewhat, sort of damning with faint praise while others have more
heartily endorsed the Kumhos, and panned the Falkiens. The problem with
Tire rack is the shipping plus local mounting, which averages $20/tire.
Maybe I can convince Discount to discount them...........
