Dude,

Win 3.WTF??

I highly recommend an APC battery backup (UPS). Mine has saved me and about 30k worth of hardware several times. Really!! www.apc.com .

When R-12 was taken off the market a while back, I did some research. Found
that a guy at Purdue had invented a good substutite called "autofrost". Try
to search for www.aoutfrost.com or maybe R-406a. It had been accepted by EPA
and given the number R-406a. Appearently you need an EPA lisence to buy the
stuff, and the link was on their site last time that I was there a year ago.
But this is a true drop in replacement with NO requirements for a lube
flush.

On the '93MTX, I first had a can added, then had a seal replaced and the
system filled with R-406a by local wrench turner, who is no longer in
business. Worked good for 3 years, but the poor '93 has now suffered from
very rusty A/C pipes, and I have not had either the time or money to replace
them for my poor suffering daugher who has to drive the car now. She has a
State car for work with working A/C.

And I am suffering more, since work requires 80 hours/week, just to keep
this job, and then last week lightening strikes the phone lines! As I am
working on this crap-top, it strikes! I get a jolt and see lots of sparks!
The modem is fried as is the printer. My wifes modem also is toast. The
only machine that escapes without harm is the old iron clad win 3.1 desktop
thing, with my mission critical fax works program.

So, this comes to the list via a cellphone/modem connection. And you think
that a dial-up connection is slow...
