I've talked to a few folks about using the plus hood as a mold and model
(for gen1) and building a CF unit for it.  I want one for track work (for my
89).  Even the plus hood is a boat anchor.

stock steel is about 50 lb, plus hood is 42.5 lb.  one of the track events
back in the summer I was chewing the fat with one of the BMW guys pit'd next
to me, he had a CF hood for his bimmer, weighed 8 lbs.

Also I'm interested (more-so really) in the fascia's, as both weigh 2x what
the hood does.  yeah yeah there is bracing you can take out, but it would be
a lot more slick to have a 15 lb bolt on replacement
