[Shotimes] Transmission question

About a year ago I had a Jasper Transmission installed in my 95 ATX.  Ever 
since, it has been shifting real rough, but now it kicks violently when 
shifting and it won't seem to shift into overdrive on the highway.  It revs 
almost 4000 at 70 mph.  It also seems to have trouble shifting at all in the 
city sometimes.  This just started happening today.  The Fluid looks pretty 
good, but some minor black spots.  Could this be a VSS going bad or 
something else.  TIA.
