Pry a thin flat-blade screwdriver underneath the coinholder taking care
not to damage the plastic and it will pop out.
Or, you can remove the shift knob and boot cover plate, unscrew the 6 8mm
bolts that hold the console in place, lift out the console, disconnect the
power connector to the rear light, and push it out from underneath.
For you weight conscious racers, that center console is a fairly heavy
assembly.
I've been told that the 91 plus had a cig lighter in the rear. Can
someone tell me exactly where Ford placed that part?
If you're familiar with this center console, you'll know that there is a
rectangular piece of plastic in the back that covers access to the three
rear bolts. This web page has pics of that modification.
