Only Gen 1s have screws on the handles that need to be removed. There
are 3 screws on the Gen 2 that need to come out. One in the map pocket,
one in the space where you pull the door closed, and one on the sail
panel behind the mirrors. Taking out the 2 that hold the switch panel
to the door is also a good idea, so you can completely remove the door
panel. Other wise its just held on by the push pins as stated before.
Sometime previous owners have siliconed the panel to the door to help
prevent rattles. Otherwise, there is no trick to removing the panel.
If you're having problems with the top of the panel where it meets the
window, Get a screw driver in there and run it along till it stops.
Then pry a little harder and the pin should come free. I've had
problems with those upper pins not coming out easily before.

Ok, everyone in unison now: screws under the caps on the pull strap!
I definitely didn't have those out. Time to try again. Thanks man!
