If I read your post correctly it sounds like the throw out bearing is the
original style without the steel sleeve that fits over the aluminum "nose
cone". Install an improved design throw out bearing that comes with the
steel sleeve. The sleeve is Loctited to the nose. If the sleeve fits loose
you could epoxy with a metal filled to tighten up the fit.
