But wait there's more!  I forgot that if the same D601 pad is used then the
pad doesn't move out any, the braking TQ would be the same its just that the
larger rotor has more mass for the thermal issues.

The larger rotor will result in greater braking TQ, given the same pads, etc.
If the tires are up to handling the added BTQ then yes distances pretty much
have to be shorter.

You have proof of this?  I would have to believe that 96 brakes versus
stock brakes on a gen 1 or gen 2 will stop in a shorter distance in a one
stop test.
