[Shotimes] SHO Needs a spring

My 95 had the gold caps and they were the original struts. I knocked the
cap off the top of the strut and then cut just below where it was crimped
over on top and the Koni inserts fit perfect. The knurled part on the
koni's pulled down into the casing and made a perfect fit. Email me if you
want some pictures.

I was under the impression that while the rears on the 94-95 were shorter,
the reason for wanting them was because of the "gold caps" that for some
reason when modified for koni's resulted in a better fit for the insert in
the empty housing.

Bruce
You can use any housing from any 86-95 Taurus/Sable for the Koni housings.
The preferred housings are the pre-94 rear housings because they are longer
and offer slightly more travel than the shorter rear 94- 95. Koni sells
inserts for either rear housing but you must specify which when ordering.
Chris; I would not use stock struts (especially used ones) to try to dampen
eibachs. The 94-95 struts were commonly valved for very light spring rates
which won't work well with the 200+ rated eibachs.
