Try Harbor Freight too! They may beat Whitney on price! I got mine from
ACKITS and paid $30 something for it. I have used it a bunch. It does eat a
good bit of air about 4-5 SCFM so look at your air supply first. It will not
go quite as low as the electric pumps. I see around 29" of H2O on my gauges.
I also have cheap gauges so the absolute numbers may not be correct. But
what I do is use it to make sure the system is holding Ok before taking it
to a shop for a vacuum and fill. I have posted before that you really need
to spend some time with the system being pulled down to get all the most
moisture that is possible out of the system. Even a very small percent of
moisture really degrades the cooling performance.

 So long answer but yes I think they are great! No moving parts so the thing
will never wear out.
