Yes, the Fram setup sucks. Glad you reminded me, as I need to buy a new pan
plug this week (car came with that stupid FRAM setup.....free to anyone who
wants it!!)

This setup still looks to have the same issue as the Fram from one aspect.
IMHO, I feel that draining the oil when hot, and getting a nice, solid
stream out of the drain helps in getting all of the crud out of the bottom
of the oil pan.

Setups like this one and the Fram have a slower level of flow, plus their
smaller openings are farther above the bottom of the pan, so it just seems
to me to be less effective.
