Yes, tire pressures matter. The best thing is some track time, and/or a
driving school.

He could induce a little more oversteer just be adjusting tire pressures,
right?
Matt, Welcome to the list. I have a 19 year old also with a 95 MTX SHO.
The best advice we can give you here is to think about and plan how best
to spend your time and money. You're going to get a lot of different
opinions here about which upgrades to do first. Although a 26mm rear ASB
is a very common mod, it's probably not the kind of thing that's necessary
to do at the beginning of the trail. If you have visions of doing track
time, MHO is to improve the braking system first.
