No, that is incorrect,  The spark always flows in the same direction but
with opposite polarity from the opposite ends of the coil pack.  On the
shared coil one plug is fired positive polarity all the time and one plug is
fired negative polarity.  The plugs only really need platinum on one
electrode bit it would be on the center electrode from one end of the coil
and on the side electrode for the other end of the coil.

Make up your mind.  During the power stroke the current flows from center
electrode to side electrode, and during the exhaust stroke the current flows
from side electrode to center electrode.  CORRECT?  Hence the need for
platinum on both electrodes.
