My '95 is gone as well. Of course the new owner has a rebuilt alternator,
rebuilt starter, new crank and cam sensors, new ECT, new slider pins,...

Well, the car is gone now so I can brag all I want. The new owner gets to
knock on wood. ;-)

Mine needed rebuilding at the seven year mark. One of the diodes had
burned out.

In 11 total years and 183,000 miles, I still had my original.

Back when I had the alternator rebuilt in my '95, I walked into the repair
shop and set it down on the counter. The tech immediately said without
hesitation or even touching it, "that came out of either a Taurus SHO or a
Lincoln Limousine, right?". I said "an SHO...how'd you know?". He said it
was a heavy duty alternator that Ford only used in the SHO and the Lincoln.
He'd seen enought of them that he knew them on sight.

Hello All,

Can someone direct me to where I can get a Heavy Duty
Alternator for a 1995 MTX Sho? Do they make them? Can
I get parts to make my own?

What are the Amperages for the various years of the
SHO that came stock? I thought the 1995 MTX came with
onver 100+amps stock, is that true? Thanks a lot for
any of your feedbacks. Thanks.

-John
