Something to consider is looking for a starter switch for a mid-60's
Ford, like a 65-68 Mustang. I think these are the same as the early
SHO starter switches. i.e. they are an upright cylinder on a bracket
as opposed to a horizontal cylinder, and also have two terminals on
the front labeled I (for ignition) and S (for starter switch). The I
terminal bypasses the ballast resistor to the ignition coil and would
not be connected on a SHO.
Anyway, the classic Mustang types will insist on correct appearance,
and usually have the same internal operation (such as a relay and
coil voltage regulator instead of solid state).
