Just a hint that may help: You can get spray paint that matches the console exactly at your local Ford dealer parts counter. It may have to be ordered and take a couple of days, but... for a few hundred bucks, it may be worth it. If the console is deeply gouged, find something to fill the gouges with and paint over. It should work fine. I painted the new black console piece around my shifter that came with my rod shifter kit and it looks factory.

Hey Everyone,
I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything! No, I'm not dead,
just too busy to keep up with my email and the like...
Unfortunately my SHO got broken into last Wednesday morning and the radio
was stolen out of it. The thieves were "considerate" burglars, and they
didn't tear up the interior to get the radio. Surprisingly enough, they
actually took the time to unplug the radio, rather than hack the wiring
apart. The only damage they did to the car was bust out the passenger front
window and scratch up the center console a little (probably from pieces of
glass stuck to their clothes). Luckily no damage to the body of the car,
the leather seats, or the dash. What I really can't believe is that they
actually took the time to pop the dome light cover off and take out the bulb
without breaking it, either!
Unfortunately now I need to get my window replaced, find a new stereo (the
insurance company is wanting to replace it with one that is worth $480, so
I'm just going to take the check), and find a gray center console for a 95
MTX in MINT condition. If anyone knows of a nice center console for sale,
please let me know, as I'm trying to figure out how much it will cost to
replace mine for the insurance company.
Also, if anyone in the Portland Metro area has a glass shop that they
recommend, please email me ASAP. My insurance company was supposed to
arrange this, but they dropped the ball, and I'm sick of not having a
passenger-side window! Plus, I noticed a lot of the glass places are
willing to pay my deductible! : ) I mainly want to find a place that is
really careful and won't tear up my door panel taking it out...
Any information would be greatly appreciated! For those of you wondering,
YES, I'm still planning on going to the convention! : ) I already have the
time off, but finances are still a little tight to pay for everything up
front right now...
