[Shotimes] fuel pump

Question?Is the pulsator mandatory for the fuel pump instead of the gas line 
provided in the kit.I had to drop the tank a 2nd time.Engine would start 
fine and only run about 10 minutes,then  he would die.On restart:no pump 
sound.I double checked both fuel lines and made sure the sending unit was 
seated properly.Every thing was correct.Any suggestions?
