My top line was extremely stubborn.  I wrapped piano wire around the
fitting, ran it straight forward through the intake snakes, then wrapped it
around a ratchet handle so I could get a straight forward pull.  As for the
bottom line, I studied it for awhile, then pulled the rear exhaust manifold
and the fitting came right off.
