Hey Carl when the head gaskets go KABOOM (not really) but when they do go
let me know I have a New/Rebuilt set of 3.8 AL heads ready to go on.. Also
get ready for that Re Seal on that motor as well.

Subject: [Shotimes] OT: Techron Question
About 15000 miles ago, my wife's 98 Windstar had the CEL come on.
The van now has 80K miles on it. At the time it occurred, I brought
it into the local dealer and their diagnosis was that the intake
manifold needed to be replaced and the fuel injectors were very
dirty and clogged.
I've since learned that the Windstar engines have a plastic intake
and that these eventually develop leaks that required them to be
replaced. Many owners of these minivans are unhappy to say the
least. I've avoided replacing the intake for now.
Instead I decided to see if I could remedy the dirty injectors and
used some technron fuel additive. I had mentioned to my wife that
Technron is considered to be a good fuel additive for keeping
engines clean, having learned that from here. Two days ago I needed
to use the van and noticed that the CEL was not on. I asked her how
long this was off for and she said a long time. I then asked her
what gas she had been using and said that for a long time now she
was using Chevron for 9 out of 10 times.
Is it coincidence that the CEL has gone away, or is this Techron
stuff good enough to clean out clogged fuel injectors?
