The factory intake is already a "cold air intake". All that means
is that you're not pulling air from inside the engine compartment
but rather from the fenderwell which is insulated from the engine.
You can remove some of the restriction in the fenderwell by removing
the silencer cone and the outer box.
The simplest solution for a larger MAF is to get the 75mm Pro-M
Bullit that mates up to the stock air box. Then you can replace the
OEM panel style air filter with a higher flowing K&N.
