You sleep better at night, that's what you do with the results.  If for some reason you happened to get a bearing that was incorrectly manufactured, or for whatever other reason, you had incorrect clearances you would at least have the opportunity to correct it before running the engine.

Here's a related story- my 90 had been running poorly for awhile.  I could not find the problem so I took it to the dealer for them to diagnose.  After a big bill for the diagnosis, they could not find the problem either.  Later I learned it was due to wear of the keyway in the lower timing belt gear.  If the dealer had only checked the ignition timing they would have discovered the problem.  They probably didn't check it because "why check it- you can't do anything about it anyway".
