True..... I had a '88 Civic Wagovan AWD with the 1.5L engine. It needed it's
valve adjusted every 30,000 miles. Being cheap, I decided to do it myself. 9
bent valves and $1200 later, I had adjusted valves.

Somehow or another I cause the belt to skip a tooth.

Honda has built a lot of interference engines, and their timing belts were
known to snap easily.  However it didn't cost nearly as much to repair as
the V8 SHO does.  Also, the Honda fails as a result of missed maintenance
whereas the SHO fails as a result of design errors.
