Yee Ha!!!!

The problem was definitely that (D)PFE* sensor and the connector. They got it
running yesterday, just after they cut the connector and sensor out of the harness.
I have new parts on the way; it is usable now, but the CE light is on, since there
is no (D)PFE detected. When the parts get here, I'll hook them up, and away we'll
go.

So the lesson learned here is....if a 5 volt wire somehow get in contact with
ground, either by touching a ground wire in its connector, or any basic ground of
the car, while the engine is running, it will shut down, and not run again until
that short circuit is fixed.

Sounds logical to me....it's a reasonable way to prevent cooking the PCM.

*Some say that Gen 1 cars have only PFE, rather than DPFE. I'll be researching that
further, since the dealer seems to think it is called DPFE.
