[Shotimes] Help with Fuel system problem.

My son Ken's 95 ATX started displaying symptoms of fuel 
pressure problems.  hard start when hot, bad idle for a while.

Got out the fuel pressure tester, and the system won't hold 
any pressure.  Key on, engine off test shows pressure went 
to about 20 and then dropped like a rock.

Engine on at idle, about 30 psi.

I took a regulator off of my spare 3.0L engine (any 
difference between the 89 regulator and 95 ATX?) and at 
first it built about 30 psi and held it (key on, engine 
off), then we started the car, started fine, pressure held 
at the same 30.  Then shut off and pressure went to zero 
immediately.

Then tried keyon, engine off and it went to 40 and 
immediately to zero.

What do we do next, and do we still need a new pressure 
regulator?  AutoZone quoted 85 bucks!

All help appreciated.

OH, car runs OK, just hard starting when hot, and bad idle 
after hot start for a little while (maybe a couple minutes).
