I'm sorry I went off at you last night.  I don't apologize for what I said, but I
think you might not have realized the effect on a carclub list like this that a
statement like yours might cause.

You need to know that there are a bunch of crazies here.  We all know how much
trouble our cars can be, but in spite of that, we enjoy them so much that we put up
with whatever might happen with them, and share our knowledge with each other so
that we can minimize the problems that come up.

Saying something like that on this list, even if you have a SHO yourself, is VERY
dangerous in this 'crazy' environment, because not every car out there is constantly
causing problems.  Some of them, like Patty's, and mine, and Don Mallinson's, and
many, many others, have been very trouble free.....my car happens to have had all
its standard problems while it was under its 100k mile warranty.  All the tough
stuff got fixed early, for free, and we don't have a rust problem in California. 
Plus, I've been fixing my cars (and my parents' cars) since I was 8 years old
(simple things that young, of course), and took auto mechanics in college....so I've
been able to learn a lot about the basics, and can head off most big problems with
the SHOs through periodic regular scheduled maintenance and inspections....brake
jobs, suspension work, plugs, etc.

But anyway, I just wanted to say that I had put in a long day yesterday, and was
laughing at all the responses to that post, and then yours popped up.
