It's a good thing that we know better.

1)  The body is a Taurus.  It is a well-engineered body, very crash-worthy.
It's also relatively light.  Here being a Taurus is a good thing.
2)  The running gear is something different- suspension, brakes,
transmission, and even the factory tires.
3)  The equipment is better than the standard Taurus- seats, radio, etc.
4)  The trim is relatively plain, BUT ASK US IF WE CARE.
5)  The engine is not a standard Taurus engine.  When it came out in 1989 it
was unlike anything available in any other car that could remotely be
considered a competitor to it.  If that engine had variable cam timing it
would be competitive with anything available today.

So you see it's NOT just a Taurus.  That's why we're all here.
