I was out setting up a few jobs this morning and I run across a 95 ATX on a used car lot so I stop and look at it.
I see a Red GENII SHO on the lot hood up looks pretty good from the road. I turn around and pull in. I'm in the 90. I park next to the 95 looking at the passngerside and notice copious amounts of rust on the rear quarter door rot has set in pretty bad. custom rims 1 center cap with mismatched tires. Walk behind it to the driverside where there are another pair of mismatched tires no center caps. Cool thing is NONE of the 4 tires have a match anywhere on the car. quarter rusted doors rusted huge dent in trunk looks like somebody blew the lock out of it with a screwdriver. Get around to the front of it and it looks pretty good from the front. engine bay is cleaner then mine.I walk back open the door and was greeted by the door panel falling off at me. Seats trashed dash trashed carpet trashed. missing all the pillar trim all the way around. Open the back door and say howdy to the door panel that falls off at me again.Open the trunk where it looks like it was once a speaker on wheels.
passengerside door panels both fall off when I open the doors. pass front seat broken and I mean broken console was trashed.sunroof broken. shade missing. no sunroof console it's gone as is the motor. headliner looks like it was used as an ashtray. Guy brings out the keys and says that's the nicest SHO I'll ever find.He tosses me the keys I start it the thing smokes more then I do. I shut it off in fear. toss the keys back and then asked the question. What ya asking for it. And in a straight face he replies 6000.00 I start laughing I tried to control myself, but 6000 for this thing is about what it would take to make it a decent SHO again. Then he tells me that SHO's are very rare and hard to find and I would never be able to find another one for less then 6000.00. He tells me he see's them selling for 10-15K all the time. I laugh some more and start walking to my 90. He then ask's me what is that. I tell him 90 SHO. He then ask's what I paid for that one. I tell him 350.00 and he
looks at it and it's way nicer then his 95. I laughed some more and left. I get 4 miles down the road and there is a blue 93 on another lot with a huge sticker on it that says 2295.00. I stopped and looked at it just for fun. Blue grey interior nice car all the way around ran great looked perfect had less then 100K on the clock. and it had been sold an hour before. He took 1900 for it. I really wanted to take the 93 down to the other guy's lot. But it gives me hope that my ultra rare 90 with it's bad paint and rust spots is worth 12 Grand.
